Ex-Corrie star lands ITV quiz role

Former Coronation Street actor Bradley Walsh will host new ITV quiz show Spin Star. The programme, which airs in the autumn, claims to bring the unpredictability and big money gamble of the casino into a gameshow studio. A five-reel slot machine called Moneyspinner is the focus of the show, with questions, cash and contestants' names on the reels. The contestants will take it in turns to win large amounts of cash for that episode's Spin Star, who is in charge of the giant slot machine. (more)

'Stargate: Atlantis' series to end

The Sci Fi Channel has axed Stargate: Atlantis, according to reports. Multichannel News claims that the regular series will come to an end in January 2009 at the conclusion of its fifth season. Katona declared bankrupt by High Court

Kerry Katona has been declared bankrupt by the High Court. The I'm A Celebrity... winner failed to pay the final £82,000 of a £417,000 tax bill. Katona was not present at the court earlier today. Her representative Luke Harris claimed that she was waiting for cheques to clear before she paid the money back. Organisers hit out at festival ticket 'scam'

Festival organisers and concert promoters have hit out at unofficial agencies that are failing to deliver tickets to fans. It was reported yesterday that hundreds of fans were not given passes to last weekend's V Festival, despite paying Sos Master Tickets. The online ticket shop has now gone offline and is under investigation by Islington Council. Fans who purchased tickets to see George Michael at Earl's Court and this weekend's Reading and Leeds Festivals from the site are not expected to receive their purchases. Lonely end for 'Saddam' drama

BBC Two's drama about the rise and fall of Saddam Hussein ended on a low note last night (Wednesday). The final episode of the four-part House Of Saddam drew just 1.49m (6.2%) to BBC Two in the 9pm hour, putting the channel in fourth place for the time period. The drama began strongly three weeks ago, with 2.72m (13.2%), but has steadily lost viewers over the course of its run. Confidently winning the slot was BBC One's celebrity genealogy series Who Do You Think You Are?. This week's episode, featuring London mayor Boris Johnson, delivered 6.86m (28.6%), on par with the 6.85m (29.9%) audience last week. ITV1 was a distant second place, drawing 3.1m (12.9%) for a Taggart repeat, and on Channel 4, Big Brother managed 2.79m (11.6%), with a further 428,000 (2.6%) on Channel 4+1. Coldplay make plans for next album release

Leipzig: Sony unveils free PS3 music videos

Sony has announced that a free streaming music video service for its PlayStation 3 console will launch early next year.
