Trivia:
Four of the main cast members are originally from Massachusetts: Steve Carell (Michael Scott), John Krasinski (Jim Halpert), B.J. Novak (Ryan Howard) & Mindy Kaling (Kelly Kapoor). Guest star Nancy Walls (Carol Stills), Steve Carell's real-life wife, is also from Massachusetts. moreGoofs:
Revealing mistakes: Although the show is set in Scranton, Pennsylvania, every episode set outside during the winter features an unrealistically warm climate. Although characters always wear overcoats and pretend to shiver, numerous things reveal the actual California filming location. Some of these include: no visible breath, no snow, full lawns and trees covered with green leaves. moreQuotes:
Edward R. Meow: [Michael and the employees kids are watching the young Michael on an old puppet show] So, tell me, what do you wanna be when you grow up?Young Michael Scott: I wanna be married and have 100 kids so I can have 100 friends, and no one can say no to being my friend.
Edward R. Meow: [Long pause] Uh... oh, ok. Well, nice talking with you, Michael. Back to you, Miss Trudy!
Melissa Hudson: [after Michael turns off the clip] Did you get married?
Michael Scott: Uh, no...
Abby: Why not?
Michael Scott: Uh, it just never happened.
Sasha: So, do you have any kids?
Michael Scott: Uh, nope.
Jake Palmer: Do you have a girlfriend?

This terribly poor attempt to copy the office is so horrifically bad that I'd rather watch Bravo! I loved the British office, It was the first hilarious British TV program since not the 9 o'clock news stopped. But this American version is woeful. I like Steve Carrell, I thought he was fabulous in little miss sunshine and I think he stands out in this show. but the rest of the cast drag him down into the grave with them. It bemuses me how this got past 2 or 3 episodes in the US when so many good shows are facing extinction. This type of show is something that Americans cannot grasp at all. They need to stick to what they're good at, loud noises and purile humour.
